Gerald "Jerry" A. Berenato, 62 of Hammonton passed away on Monday August 3, 2015 
at home. Born in Atlantic City he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. Jerry worked 
as a self-employed truck driver most of his life. He also previously worked for the 
Town of Hammonton Highway Department. Jerry was a former member of the 
Hammonton Fire Department No. 1. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen J. 
Berenato (nee Perna). He is survived by two sons, Steven Berenato, and Anthony 
Berenato (Brittany); one daughter, Jennifer Stepenosky (Nicholas); three 
grandchildren, Nicholas, Angelina and Anthony; his father, Anthony B. Berenato; one 
sister, Donna Mauriello (Robert); one brother, Michael Berenato (Debbie) and Gail 
Schlue mother of Anthony and Jennifer. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 8, 
2015 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. 
Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be 
celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hammonton.
