Rose Dorothy Truncone of Crawfordsville, and formerly of Port Charlotte, Fla., and 
Bridgeport, Conn., died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday in St. Clare Medical Center. She was 98.

She was born Oct. 16, 1911, at Bridgeport, Conn., to Joseph and Lucy (Verderme) 
Cerino. She married Nicholas Truncone on July 24, 1937, at Bridgeport. He died in 
1995.

Mrs. Truncone did upholstery work and was a seamstress in a shirt factory in 
Bridgeport, Conn. She was active as a "Charlottes" with the Port Charlotte, Fla., Elks 
Club and did volunteer work with the Binky Patrol in Crawfordsville.

She also volunteered at hospitals in the Port Charlotte area.

Survivors include a son, Samuel (Rose) Truncone, Crawfordsville; a brother, Albert 
Cerino, Bridgeport; three grandsons and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.

A family entombment service is planned for Friday at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port 
Charlotte, Fla. No local services will be conducted.
