RODY CARL RODY, 71, of Newfield, NJ., loving son of the late Samuel and Mary
Rody (nee DiMarino) died after a brief illness on May 10, 2013. Devoted husband of
Helen Rody (nee Dulan) for 35 years and father of Shawn Rody, Rosemary Epstein,
Roseanne Spross, Kathleen Rody-McGee, Susan Mooney, Samuel Rody, and Carl
Rody, Jr. as well as stepfather to Sanford Weed, Jr, Michael Solomon and Patricia
Taibi. Carl also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A 1960
graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Carl was a Veteran of the U.S.
Navy, serving on the USS Forrestal (CVA 59) during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the
early 1960's. Carl worked as a mailer for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News, The
Evening Bulletin, Courier Post and several other publications in the Delaware Valley
since 1967 as well as working as a cook and bridge tender for over 15 years for
Conrail among many other jobs throughout his life. A Memorial Service will be held on
Saturday, May 18 at 3:00 P.M. at DeMARCO-LUISI FUNERAL HOME, 2755 S. Lincoln
Ave. in Vineland, NJ. Relatives and friends may gather from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the
Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Carl's name to
The Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360. Please visit

Albert "Al" S. Walter, Jr.

Albert "Al" S. Walter, Jr., 83, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed
away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale.
He was the loving husband of Rosemarie (Kozack) Walter for 22 years. Al was born in
Philadelphia, PA to the late Albert S. Walter, Sr. and the late Ethel (Moffitt) Walter.
He graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia, class of 1952. Al graduated
from Temple University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration.
During the 1950's, he served as a chaplain's assistant in the US Army. Al was
employed as a financial analyst for American Water in Voorhees, NJ for 21 years.
He was a former member of Bethel Christian Fellowship in Philadelphia, PA where he
served as a deacon and played the organ and piano and formerly attended Hopewell
Christian Fellowship in Telford.
Al loved watching and talking about football and baseball. He enjoyed connecting
with old friends on the computer and talking with them. Al also enjoyed traveling with
his wife to hymn sings and concerts. He loved listening to southern gospel music. In
his younger years, Al enjoyed playing instruments, especially the trumpet, organ, and
piano.
He was a hardworking gentleman with a good sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by four step-daughters, Rosemary D. Epstein &
husband, David of Philadelphia, PA, Rosann J. Spross & husband, Joseph of
Minersville, PA, Susan A. Mooney & husband, John "Jack" of Philadelphia, PA and
Kathleen H. Birkelbach & husband, Gerald "Jerry" of Oreland, PA; two step-sons, Carl
D. Rody, Jr. & wife, Patricia of Lake Wales, FL, Samuel P. Rody & companion, Nadine
of Philadelphia, PA; fourteen grandchildren – Angela, Stephen, Daniel, Mark, Joey,
Matthew, Amanda, Jackie, Matthew M., Angela M., Christina, Gino, Stephanie &
Jeffrey; five great-grandchildren – Holdyn, Dylan, Jack, Ace & Clark; a sister, Helen
Piston & husband, Bud of Ambler, PA; a niece, Nancy Piston of Ambler, PA; a nephew,
Dr. Robert Piston & wife, Dr. Kathy of Hermitage, PA; three great-nephews – Robert,
Michael & Steven and two great-nieces – Rebecca & Hannah.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at Hopewell
Christian Fellowship, 601 Hunsicker Road, Telford, Pennsylvania 18969 where friends
may view and meet with the family from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
Burial will take place at Line Lexington Mennonite Cemetery.
