According to Early Yorkshire Charters, p. 18, Wimar, Steward of the Honour of 
Richmond (held by Count Alan--either Alan "the Red" d. s.p. 1089 or Alan "the Black" 
d. s.p. 1093, both sons of Wimar's probable father-in-law Eudes), was a tenant of Alan 
the "Red" at the Domesday survey in Yorkshire:

1 Aske (parish of Easby)
2 Harmby (parish of Spennithorne)
3 Leyburn (parish of Wensley), where he held two manors.

Subsequently he acquired several other holdings, which mainly had been held by 
Gospatric (also a tenant of Count Alan) at the Domesday. These included:

4 Ellerton-on-Swale (parish Catterick)
5 Fearby (parish Masham)
6 Hartforth (parish Gilling)
7 Hornby
8 Ingleby near Bainbridge
9 Manfield
10 Marrick
11 Morton-on-Swale (parish Ainderby Steeple)
12 Scotton (parish Catterick)
13 East Tanfield (parish Kirklington)
14 West Tanfield
15 Thoresby (parish Ayagarth)
16 Thornton Rust (parish Ayagarth)
17 Thornton Steward
18 Walburn (parish Downholme)
19 Wensley.

Wimar was also a tenant of Count Alan in Fordham and elsewhere in Cambridgeshire, 
and in Hickling and West Somerton in Norfolk.
