BARONY OF POYNINGS (V) 1446

ELEANOR DE POYNINGS, de jure suo jure. BARONESS POYNINGS, granddaughter 
and heir, being daughter and heir of the Sir Richard, was born about 1422. She 
married, on or before 25 June 1435, Henry DE PERCY, son and heir of Henry (DE 
PERCY), EARL OF NORTHUMBERLAND, by Eleanor, daughter of Ralph (NEVILLE), 
EARL OF WESTMORLAND, by his 2nd wife, Joan BEAUFORT, sister of the half-blood 
to HENRY IV. They had licence to enter into Eleanor's inheritance in November 1446. 
HENRY DE PERCY was summoned to Parliament, v.p. from 14 December 1446 to 26 
May 1455, by writs directed Henrico de Percy, chivaler, domino de Ponynges. He 
succeeded his father as EARL OF NORTHUMBERLAND 22 May 1455, and was slain 
at the battle of Towton, 29 March 1461. Eleanor died in February 1483/4. [Complete
