England Hist. and Geneal. Reg., vol cv, pp. 39-40. It was formerly believed that the 
family to which Foubert belonged took its name from Dover, but Round suggested that 
the name was derived from Douvres in the Bessin and the evidence which he adduced 
seems to be convincing.
