impartitum fuit beneficium absolutionis sub conditione non valens redere nulla signa 
doloris, aut poenitentie; Asportatus Domium in Pago San Biagio, per dies fere tres 
permansit in eodem discrimine vite tandem die predicta." ("In the dark of night, he was 
traveling to the grove of olive trees, and precisely around the tenth hour, with some 
companions joining him, he successfully crossed the first edge or bank of the deepest 
valley (commonly called il Matrunolo) and as if reaching the top of another cliff, the 
narrower path led him down to the bottom for a distance of a hundred palms; in the 
sand, uttering nothing else but: Virgin of Mount Carmel, save me; and the companions, 
running to where he had fallen, and others hastening their journey, ran to the parish
