ALBERT "JOE" MASI, 78, of Jamesville, N.Y., and formerly of Hammonton, died Sept.
28 at University Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.
Mr. Masi retired in 1984 from the Jamesville Beach Parks as superintendent with the
Onandoga County Parks Department.
Mr. Masi previously retired after 32 years in the military.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1934 and served as a radar-radio repairman. During
World War II, he served in the European theater of operations.
He retired in 1966 as a master sergeant for the U.S. Air Force as a recruiter in
Syracuse.
Born in Hammonton, he lived there until he was 18 years old. He lived in the Syracuse
area for the past 54 years.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; one daughter, Kathleen of Syracuse; two brothers,
Anthony of Philadelphia and Al of Hammonton; three sisters, Marie, Caroline Angello
and Mildred Perna, all of Hammonton; and one grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in
Jamesville, N.Y.
Entombment was in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse, with full military
honors.
Arrangements were by Pirro and Sons Funeral Home of Syracuse, N.Y.
