eachother in the parking lot of a southwest Roanoke shopping center had been 
friends who once were in business together, police said. Philip Victor Frate, 24, of 
Roanoke, and Daniel Franklin Giddens, Sr., of Wilson, N.C., died shortly after they 
shot each other Friday night, police Sgt. W.G. Lucas said."
