1986 book:
When Joseph decided to emigrate to the United States he left his family in Italy. He 
arrived in Hoboken, New Jersey, and resided there for a short time before moving to 
Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He returned to Italy after securing employment and 
brought his wife and daughter to Phoenixville. After residing in several homes he built 
his own stone home at 49 Christman Street, which is still a beautiful residence; having 
learned the trade of stonemason in Italy he was able to construct a much admired 
home.
Joseph worked for twenty years as a maintenance man for the Pennhurst State 
School. After retiring, he continued on his own as a stonemason until ill health forced 
him to stop doing manual labor.
He and Annamarie had 16 children, of whom 12 died in infancy in Italy.

confusing.
