"Baptismal Record of Alessandro Gennaro Giovanni Sacco
[Number] 56. 9 January 1741…Parish of San Pietro Casali [perhaps Casola or Casolla] 
Garzano…has baptized an infant born to Nicola Sacco and Lorenza Brignola, a married 
couple from Casali, to whom they gave the name Alessandro Gennaro Giovanni, 
brought to the baptismal font by Magdalena Mashoiane [?], a midwife for [the hamlets 
of] “Casali S. Clementi” [San Clemente]…[see Attachment 7].FN7
COMMENTS: The hamlet/locality names mentioned in this record may not be the same 
today. However, there are hamlets of Caserta by the names Casola, Casolla, and San 
Clemente.

Ecclesiastical Death and Burial Record of Alessandro Sacco
23 November 1803, Alessandro Sacco, husband of Palma Esposito, passed away at 
the age of about 70, to whom the last rites were given…whose body was buried in the 
Parish of San Pietro in Garzano, [jurisdiction of] Caserta…[see Attachment 8]. FN8
COMMENTS: He was actually 62 years old. He was buried in the church or perhaps in 
the cemetery adjacent to the church. Countryside parishes of this time period often 
had an adjacent cemetery, with only priests being buried under the floorboards of the 
parish building.
No parents are given but he is noted to be the husband of Palma Esposito, who was 
still living.

9 May 1763…married Alessandro Sacco, son of Nicola [Sacco], and Palma Esposito 
who was raised by [difficult to read] the deceased Angelo Natale and the living 
Carmina “Vinile” [Venile] and who was from the Annunziata Napoletano [foundling 
home in Napoli]…no impediments were detected nor any previous commitments found by 
the diocese in Caserta…[see Attachment 9]. FN9
COMMENTS: This marriage record provides additional evidence that her foster parents 
did not adopt Palma. Her foster father was deceased by this time.
