Subject: Boyce Data
The following is the data that I have on the family of Jehoida Boyce. The paper was in
the possession of Harvey Seneca Crittenden in Madison Co., Tennessee, a grandson
of Jehoida. Comparing hand writing with Harvey and his son, it was evident that
neither of them was the author. I believe it was written well before the Civil War.

The date for Isaiah is not copied wrong, and the order is as shown. The copy is as
accurate as I can make it. The next list is on the same page but it appears to be in a
different hand. From other sources- Elizabeth (Boyce) Crittenden died 11/30/1869 in
Philadelphia, PA. where one of her sons was living.

The last four children are Harvey Seneca, Edwin Rice, Samuel Worcester and Salmon
Hodges. Rice, Lyman, and Samuel, and Artemas are probably connected to the
Crittenden line: the others may be candidates for Hannah the wife of Joseph Boyce.
I have one major problem- how did Artemas Crittenden meet Elizabeth Boyce. His
parents lived and died in Conway, MA which was some distance from Jehoida's home
in NY and far from Elizabethtown. It could be possible that Artemas was developing
his residence in Adams and Elizabeth returned to her Keeler grandparents for a visit.
Then the distance would have been only about 20 miles. Another possibility might be a
Boyce relative in VT, possibly near Pownal where one of Artemas' children was born.
I've always thought the Jehoida would be descended from Joseph of Salem, MA by
way of VT or lower NY.
My interest is filling out the children of Jihad with dates and marriages and especially
the ancestors through Joseph and Hannah. I hope some of this will help.
