Willard A. Brown Sr., 83, a retired real estate company executive who was a 
community leader in Arlington Heights and Park Ridge, died Wednesday in Lutheran 
General Hospital, Park Ridge. 

 Mr. Brown was a senior vice president with Rubloff Realtors when he retired in 1975. 
He had been with the company since 1952, when he joined Rubloff as managing 
director of its Evergreen Plaza Shopping Center in Evergreen Park. 

 At the time of his death, he was a trustee for Janitors Union Pension Fund, Local 25. 
As a resident of the Moorings retirement complex in Arlington Heights, he chaired a 
committee that got the rare round barn on the premises registered as a national 
landmark. Mr. Brown also served on various other committees at the Moorings, where 
he had been living for the last two years. He previously lived in Palatine, where he 
was a former member of the District 211 school board. 

 Before that, he lived in Park Ridge. He served that village as president of both the 
Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club, and was secretary of its Planning Commission. 

 Mr. Brown was a native of Madison, Wis. From 1930 to 1945, he was in the real 
estate business in Park Ridge. Before joining Rubloff, he spent four years in the realty 
department at Montgomery Ward. 

 Mr. Brown's wife of more than 60 years, Elaine, died last month. 

 Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Porter, Julie Benstein and Jill Mattson; 
three sons, Willard Jr., Harvey and Donald; a brother, Robert; a sister, Jill Herring, 20 
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

 Private services and burial will be today.
