Bob was born in Milwaukee in 1913. He lived with his parents until they divorced 
around 1915. Then he lived with his aunt, Dolly Webster, and his grandmother, Helen 
(Cooper) Brown, in Columbus, Wisconsin. He loved living with these two wonderful 
women, but missed his brother, Willard, who was away at school. When Bob started 
school he moved to Park Ridge, IL, to live with his mother, Ellen, and her second 
husband, Paul Bolten. When he graduated from high school he worked as an 
accountant at Globe Furniture in Chicago until he got married in 1934 to Anita 
vonBuelow. They were the parents of four children, Rita Valerie, Patricia, Robert 
Cooper Jr., and Judith. He worked at many jobs during his adult years, and ended up 
taking over his father-in-law's jewelry store, vonBuelow Jewelry, in Park Ridge. After 
retiring Bob and Anita bought an Airstream trailer and took off for places unknown. 
They settled in California, where they had many adventures. Bob, who went by the 
name Cooper by this time, died in Palm Springs after his 80th birthday.
