Valli J. "Val" Brigham of Eugene died Sept. 22 of complications of Alzheimer's
disease. She was 78.

Brigham was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Baker City, to Richard and Ernestine Taylor Ennis.
She married George Brigham on Sept. 11, 1945, in Missouri. They divorced July 11,
1966.
She previously lived in Eugene; the Territory of Guam; Sapporo, Japan; Bloomfield,
Iowa; and Cane Beds, Ariz., then moved back to Eugene. She had lived in Eugene for
15 years.
She held a master's degree in education from the University of Oregon. A homemaker,
Brigham had worked as a teacher of English as a Second Language at Shasta Middle
School in Eugene.
She was interested in nutrition, homeopathy, massage therapy and handwriting
analysis. She was interested in alternative health practices, taught adult education
classes in that subject and enjoyed sharing her knowledge.
Survivors include three sons, Glen of Eugene, Ron of Sherwood and Craig of
Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No service is planned. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge
of arrangements.
