by Frederica Wyatt: "Virginia Joiner of Lubbock and I are still trying to solve the 
mystery of where one of her ancestors, Kate Cay (pronounced "Key:) is buried. In 
1880, Kate's two sons were living with their maternal grandfather, Caleb Maule, in 
Precinct I in the near vicinity of Wooten Cemetery on the South Llano River. Kate was 
thought to have been accidentally shot by her husband, who disappeared shortly 
thereafter. In the 1879-1880 Mortality Schedule for Kimble County, a Mrs. Kate Stiles, 
age 25, died August 1879 of accidental gunshot wounds in Precincts 2 & 3. We 
wonder if Kate Cay and Kate Stiles were one and the same person?"
