Mary attended Friends School in Barnesville, Ohio, from which she graduated in 1899. 
She graduated from Westtown Friends School, Westtown, Pa., in 1900.
  Lydia McGrew's sister Susan married Robert Penn Thomas (1E7244), and Clayton 
Haines' brother Zebedee married Anna Harvey (1E9321). Rowland was a salesman, 
working in and around Phila., Pa. In 1908, Rowland entered the insurance business 
near Colerain, Ohio. Mary and Rowland had no children.
      After living in Phila., Pa., Mary and Rowland moved to a farm northwest of 
Colerain, Ohio, in 1908. After Rowland died, Mary moved to Phila., Pa., where she 
was hostess of the Pennsbury Home in Germantown. When she retired she lived at 
Stapley Hall, a home for retired Friends near Germantown, Phila., Pa.
