outstanding horsewoman. She participated in the annual Cattlemen's Days rodeo in
Gunnison, Colorado, which included riding as a jockey in horse racing. She loved
music, especially jazz, dancing, art, science, nature, birds, gardening, which included
a vegetable garden, flowers, political and natural history, museums, cooking nutritious
food, antiques, camping, PBS, and her family. She was preceded in death by her
husband of nearly 60 years, Harry, in 2005. She continued to live in her own home
until her death. She is survived by her 4 children: Sandra, Cynthia, Wesley, and Diana
Ewers, 2 grandchildren: Heather Shinkevich and Douglas Armstrong, 3 great
