Class of 1956
Jeane Eyre Anderson passed away peacefully on March 13, 2010, surrounded by 
family. Jeane was born April 7, 1938, in Bingham, Utah to Golden Walker Eyre and 
Margeurite Gray Eyre. 

Jeane, her parents and her older brother, Junior, lived on the Milford Flats for a time 
before moving to Cedar City in 1955. 

She married Glen Dale Anderson on June 9, 1960. Together they raised three children. 

Jeane received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the College of 
Southern Utah. She went on to obtain her master’s degree in education from Utah 
State University. 

She was an educator who taught at Hurricane Middle School for 17 years. Jeane 
loved her students and received various recognitions for her work including being 
named “Teacher of the Year.” 

She loved to read and would do it anywhere, but her favorite was a spot in the sun on 
her back deck. She loved camping and spending time with family and friends at Lake 
Powell. She had an adventurous spirit and was willing to try anything once, even 
during the later years of her life, including para-sailing in Mexico, riding four-wheelers, 
deep sea fishing and snorkeling. 

Jeane was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Junior; her husband, Glen 
Dale; and son Ryan. 

She is survived by her daughter Terri (Ken) Webster; daughter-in-law Janette 
Whittaker Anderson Jones; grandchildren Mac Webster, Kimberlee (Sam) Flemetakis, 
Brett (Beranda) Webster, Josh Anderson and Ashley Anderson; five great-
grandchildren; and her beloved Yorkie Pearl. 

The family wishes to thank Iron County Home Healthcare, especially Brenda, Grant, 
Lynette and Marie, as well as her caring, concerned neighbors and her good friend 
Doraine Cropper.
