Dorothy E. (Bliss) Pollard, 86, formerly of Apartment 211, 383 King James Court, died 
Tuesday at a Greenfield nursing home. She was born and schooled in Springfield. Her 
husband, Robert J. Pollard, died in 1989. She leaves a son, Bruce W. of the Turners 
Falls section of Montague; a daughter, Joanne Murphy of Easthampton; a brother, 
Charles Bliss of Florida; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A graveside 
service will be conducted this morning at Riverside Cemetery in Gill. There are no 
calling hours, and McCarthy Funeral Homes of Greenfield and Turners Falls is in 
charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckley Nursing Home Residents 
Activity Fund, 95 Laurel St., Greenfield, MA 01301.
