LUDLOW - Charles Samuel Bliss, 91, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 
January 22, 2013. Born and raised in the six corners section of Springfield, he 
graduated from Tech High School in 1939. After serving his country honorably during 
WWII in the United States Army he was discharged in November 1945 and married his 
sweetheart Clarice Lafluer later that year. Together they raised their family in East 
Springfield and attended the East Congregational Church. He worked for many years 
at New England Telephone Company before retiring in 1978 and was past Commander 
of the American Legion Post 452 in Chicopee, he enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and 
crossword puzzles, but his greatest joy in life was the time spent with his family and 
friends. Predeceased by his wife Clarice in 2004, he leaves his loving children; Robert 
Bliss and his wife Ann of Ware, Beverly Dudley and her husband Norman of Ludlow, 
Douglas Bliss of Florida and Ralph Bliss of West Springfield; cherished grandchildren 
Christopher Bliss and wife Carolyn, Sarah (Dudley) Bowler and husband Michael ,Laura 
(Dudley) Tuck and husband Michael and Elizabeth Bliss; caring great-grandchildren 
Emily Bliss, Colin Bliss, Michael Tuck Jr., Isaiah Bowler, Gracie-Ann Tuck, Ella Bowler 
and Joshua Bowler. Funeral services for Charles will be held on Friday, January 25, 
2013, with visiting hours set at 10:00am-12:00pm from the Ludlow Funeral Home, 
concluding with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm, burial will be at the 
convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The 
Alzheimer's Association.
