"Lovington, Mrs. Gertrude Nutt, 83, a long-time resident of the Lovington area, died at 
Lovington Lea General Hospital Saturday morning. Mrs. Nutt was stricken by an 
unexpected heart attack Thursday night, and failed to rally from its impact, members of 
her family said.
Mrs. Nutt and her husband, Kerby E. Nutt, Sr., moved from Midland, Tex., to Lea 
County 42 years ago. Until he retired, her husband operated the High Lonesome 
Ranch nine miles east of here. Their home in Lovington is at 823 North Eighth Street. 
Mrs. Nutt was a member of the First Baptis Church of Lovington and belonged to the 
Lovington chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Her survivors in addition to her husband are a son, Kirby E. Nutt, Jr., Lubbock, Tex., a 
sister Mrs. Sadie Blackwell, Dallas, Tex., three borthers, Charles Fristoe, Lovington, 
and Leonard and Van Fristoe, both of whom live in California; three grandchildren and 
seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the 
pastor, the Rev. E. J. Bradshaw officiating. There will be graveside rites by the Order 
of Eastern Star at Lovington Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of Smith-Rogers 
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be W. A. (Bill) Anderson, R. D. Lee, Roy Lee, A. O. Denman, W. D. 
Johnson, Grady Richard and Logan Beale. All of Mrs. Nutt's friends have been 
designated honorary pallbearers."
