Margaret George Johnson

1916 ~ 2010 

Margaret George Johnson passed away on March 23, 2010 at her home in Salt Lake 
City, Utah. She was born August 19, 1916 in Salt Lake City to Barnett Leland George 
and Luella Woolley George. On April 8, 1939 she married Paul Alma Johnson in Santa 
Monica, California, who preceded her in death in 1979.

Margaret always made time for her friends and family and enjoyed having them visit 
her comfortable home. Always poised and proper she took pride in her appearance, 
home, cooking, and family. She enjoyed knitting and was an excellent seamstress. Her 
children often sported the latest styles and some of the best tailored Halloween 
costumes around. Margaret and Paul owned Johnson Industrial Tools where they 
worked for many years. Together they crafted an amazing and intricate family famous 
dollhouse and several other miniatures enjoyed by many. She truly enjoyed the 30 plus 
year tradition of Saturday morning breakfast with her children, grandchildren, and 
friends at various locations, the last being her neighborhood favorite, The Pinon Cafe.

Her stories, wit and conversation always provided care and comfort. Her best friend 
has said she felt sorry for those who did not get a chance to meet her. 

She is survived by children, Leland (Marg) Johnson, Rick (Tanya) Johnson, and Julie 
(Dave) Memmott. Grandchildren Jeff, Mark, Brad, Ben (Sarajane) Johnson, Emily 
(Dane) Bergeson and Leslie Memmott. Great grandchildren Madeline and Lucy 
Johnson, and Lillie Memmott. Brother Robert George.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to her care givers Cindy, 
Esther, Carrie, Delia, Paige, Heather, and Rebecca for allowing Margaret to remain in 
her home as she so desired.

A brief graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 30th at 2:30 p.m. at Wasatch 
Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive. A gathering of friends and family will follow 
the service and details can be obtained at the service or from family members.
