Deceased Name: McFADDEN Kirk L. McFadden
McFADDEN Kirk L. McFadden, 88, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, October 17, 
2007, at his home. He was born April 25, 1919, in Kansas City, Missouri, a son of 
LaVerne and Helen Price McFadden. On September 22, 1943, in Houston, Texas, he 
was united in marriage to Helen Rumel, who preceded him in death on March 28, 
2001. Kirk served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, where he engaged 
in bombing missions out of North Africa into Italy and subsequently out of Italy into 
various targets in Austria and southern Germany. He served in the United States 
Armed Forces from 1944 until his retirement in 1965, from the U.S. Air Force, attaining 
the rank of Major. Following his military career, Kirk worked for the Missouri Division of 
Employment Security for many years until his retirement in 1984, as a Management 
Analyist. He was a member of the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5; the Veterans 
of Foreign Wars Roy Sone Post 1003; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; and 
the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 513. Survivors include: a sister, 
Eleanor Harper of Warner Robins, Ga.; a brother, Howard L. McFadden of Jefferson 
City; and 13 nieces and nephews: John Harper, Katherine Harper, Craig Harper and 
Christine Harper all of Calif.; Susie Tarpley and Greg McFadden of Texas; Kirk E. 
McFadden, Michele McFadden and Leslie McFadden all of Mo.; Barbara Allen of Ill.; 
Kevin McFadden of Va.; Randy McFadden of France; and Denise McFadden of Okla. 
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Suzann McFadden, in 1946. 
Friends will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2007, at the 
Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 
Service will be held at 6:45 p.m., followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. 
Murl Nash officiating. Committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 
27, 2007, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery’s Chapel of Hope in Kansas City. Entombment will 
follow in the Mt. Moriah Garden of Faith Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be
