General Notes:
Harriett, their daughter known as Hattie, wrote "William H. Browne of So. Portland 
Maine, Mother Jane Frost married to Wm. H. Browne - there were 2 sisters - family 
moved from So. Portland to Mass." As there is no death cert. available, we have to 
support the ancestry of this William H. Browne as having parents Wm. H. Brown (no e) 
and Elizabeth W. Frost (Jane maybe a nickname). Also, this
William H. Browne and wife Harriett Naylor named their first son William Elder - the 
Elder coming from this William's paternal grandmother Hannah Elder.
The following article was in the Long Beach Daily Telegram, June 13, 1914. "Acting 
Chief (Samuel) Browne enjoyed a visit last night and today with his father, William 
Henry Browne, for 40 years traveling attorney for the Department of Justice at 
Washington and for 50 years engaged in law practice with headquarters in that city." 
Unable to obtain death cert. as it was one of several hundred lost (a full box of death 
certificates including end of September, 1928) by the Vital Records Archives when the 
records were being moved from one location to the present archives in Wash. D.C.

Compiles a History of Neglect" By Sewell Chan. A census showed him to be a 
verteran.
The Washington Post listed his death on 9/25/1928 at the U.S. Naval Hospital. The 
Washington Star listed his death as 9/23/1928 at Naval Hospital.
