General Notes:
"Blanche was emloyed by "The Housewifes Protective League." She and friends 
which she recruited for this program tested home products (similar to Consumer 
Reports" of today). The "League" was a radio show produced by CBS during the 
1940s. The show had such credibility for honesty that when a product didn't perform 
properly, the sales of that product plummeted. An example would be that at one point 
someone complained about the drinking water in Hollywood. The producer of the show 
went to the reservoir that supplied the water and found that the supply was heavily 
contaminated. They did a show explaining the situation and there was so much 
controversy raised that the City had to rebuild the reservoir and clean it up. Blanche 
also managed the apartment on Normandy Avenue in Los Angeles that was owned by 
E.M. DePencier, the owner of CBS. Blanche's husband, Walter Streeton, managed the 
station and DePencier's estate." Info provided by Blanche's grandson, Mark Streeton
