JAMES N. BLYTHE

GERMANTOWN, MD. - James Norman Blythe, 48, of Germantown, Md., died Dec. 8, 
1998, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital. A native of Newport News, Mr. 
Blythe had traveled the world as a lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He was a member of the SPEBSQSA and sang in many barbershop quartets and 
choruses, including the Norfolk Commodores.

Mr. Blythe was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Norman L. Blythe.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Robin Campbell Blythe; his mother, Margaret 
Blythe of Newport News; one sister, Barbara Blythe Smith of Murfreesboro, N.C.; and 
three nieces and four nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the 
Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel in Newport News by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr. and 
Dr. Davis L. Smith. The family will receive friends following the service.
