Prudence Clinton Armstrong

 Prudence Armstrong, a cosmetologist at I. Magnin in Walnut Creek for 20 years, died 
of cancer Saturday at her home in Walnut Creek. She was 71. 

 The native of Haskell, Texas, was raised in Big Spring Texas, and lived in Walnut 
Creek for 30 years. She lived all over the country during the 20 years her husband 
was in the Air Force. She was a member of Women of the World, the Retired Officers 
Wives Club and Community Presbyterian Church in Danville. She enjoyed Bible study, 
entertaining, cooking and rose gardening. 

 She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John R. "Jack" Armstrong; son, John 
Clinton Armstrong of Thousand Oaks; daughter, Carol Armstrong Mitchell of Napa; 
brothers, George "Buddy" Clinton and Elmer Clinton, both of Big Spring, Texas; 
sisters, Vivian Etheredge and Helen Larson, both of Big Spring, Texas; and six 
grandchildren. 

 Services: 2 p.m. graveside Fridayat Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, followed by a 
4 p.m. memorial at Community Presbyterian Church, Danville. Arrangements are by 
Oakmont Mortuary, Lafayette.
