MARBLEHEAD - Jane Phippen Kenerson, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by 
her family on June 13, 2011. She was the wife of the late Carleton E. Kenerson, Jr.

Born on May 23, 1918 in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice 
(Bowden) Phippen. Raised and educated in Salem, she attended Stoneleigh Junior 
College and The Chandler School in Boston. Jane resided in Marblehead and raised 
her family there. 

She had been employed with the Marblehead Police Department as a Police Woman 
and Matron for thirty years. 

Jane was a member of The American Red Cross, a Certified First Aid and Swimming 
Instructor, a Certified Scuba diver and a member of The Daughters of the American 
Revolution, Her hobbies included music, of which she was an accomplished pianist 
and organ player, knitting and spending time with her family. She was an avid 
exerciser and loved life and the outdoors. She had a great affection for animals, and 
enjoyed the canine companionship of her beloved Alaskan Husky, Kimo.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Joan H Brackett of New Hampshire and Lois A. 
Budrose and her husband Philip of Gloucester. and grandchildren, P. Wesley Budrose, 
Richard Cavallaro and Cynthia Cavallaro Also, great grandchildren, Molly Cavallaro, 
Peter Cavallaro, Elizabeth P. Kohler, Nicholas H. Kohler and Nieces Anne C. 
Mahoney, Linda Marino and her brother Arthur H Phippen Jr. of New York. Jane was 
predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth Brackett, grandchildren Darren Cavallaro, 
Derrick Cavallaro and her sister Mary E. Mahoney, A Celebration of her life will take 
place at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 9th, 2011 at Water-side Cemetery, Marblehead, 
Mass In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Jane's name to Hospice of 
the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923. Arrangements are made by C.R.
