Mary Louise Jackson Maule
Mary Louise Jackson Maule passed away at her home in Ware Presbyterian
Village on July 21, 2006. She was the widow of George W. Maule, with whom
she shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Christiana, she was the daughter of
George W. and Louise K. Jackson.
Mary Louise graduated from George School, and Millersville State Teachers
College in 1929. She taught in Lancaster and Chester County schools for 19
years, and was Teacher of the Year. Mary Louise and George treasured the 30
years they spent owning and operating the Valley Acres Dairy Farm in
Cochranville.
She was a lifetime member of the Religious Society of Friends. Mary Louise
was president of the Chester County Women's Christian Temperance Union, a
Girl Scout and 4-H leader, and a Junior Grange Matron of Fernwood Grange.
Mary Louise and George hosted Pennsylvania Farm Vacations, where they opened
their home and farm to city families, giving them a chance to experience
life in the country. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, and
loved gardening knitting and researching her genealogy.
She is survived by her children, Teddie Stalb and husband, Doug, of
Summerville, S.C., Betsy Zentner and her husband, Karl, of Calabasis,
Calif., and Walter Maule of Fayetteville, Ga. Her grandchildren are Patricia
Stalb and her husband, Tony Click, Michael Stalb and his wife, Ingrid, Eric
Zentner, and Chris Zentner.
Memorial services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006 at
the Ware Presbyterian Village Chapel, 7 East Locust Street, Oxford,
Pennsylvania and at 2 o'clock p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Oxford
Friends Meeting, 260 South Third Street, Oxford, Pennsylvania.
Memorial contributions in Mary Louise Maule's name may be made to Sadsbury
Friends Meeting, 777 County Line Road, Gap, PA 17527, The George Fox Friends
School, 2000 Newport Road, Cochranville, PA 19330, Oxford Friends and
Meeting and the Ware Presbyterian Village Florence Nightingale Scholarship
Fund.
