1981 book:
Norman was a farmer, and farmed the land purchased by his father in Colerain Twp., 
Lancaster Co., Pa. He took an active role in civic and political life in the southern part 
of Lancaster Co., Pa. He served as road supervisor of Colerain Twp. for nearly twenty 
years.
	Norman was one of the organizers and first president of the Lancaster 
County Extension Association, also known as the Lancaster County Farm Bureau. He 
also assisted in the formation of the Inter-State Milk Producers Cooperative and was a 
loyal and active member throughout his farming years. In 1896, Norman built a silo on 
his farm, and that silo is now the oldest silo in Lancaster Co., Pa.
  Edna was active in Colerain Grange at Kirkwood, Lancaster Co., Pa., as well as in 
the Society of Farm Women.
  Norman and Edna were members of the Religious Society of Friends.
