Helen "Mildred" Lucille Berwaldt, 79, of Carrollton, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, 
at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Immanuel Lutheran Church 
in Carrollton. Pastor Eric Swyres will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. 
Sunday, April 2, at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Carroll Memory 
Gardens, Carrollton. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of Gibson 
Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633.

Born Jan. 1, 1927, in Bates County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and 
Hattie Sweger Griffith. She graduated from Ballard High School. On Dec. 12, 1948, 
she married Harold "Pete" Berwalt, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2005. She 
had worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and 
served as a cook for the Carrollton School District along with selling Avon. She was a 
member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton, where she had served in 
various capacities.

Survivors include two sons, Vince Berwaldt of Marshall and John Berwaldt of Ponca 
City, Okla.; two sisters, Nellie Epperson of Mission, Kan., and Sue Shepherd of 
Bartlesville, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, 
Ted Griffith, Chester Griffith, Bud Griffith and Melvin Griffith; and one grandson.
