Burl Douglas Armstrong, 79, was born in Hardeman County TN on May 8, 1933 to 
Elbert F. and Thelma L Armstrong. He was a 1951 graduate from Memphis Tech High 
School. He served his country in the Army and worked for the goverment many years 
in Japan. He leaves behind four children. Amy A. Hoffhines-Harrison (Larry), Daniel L. 
Armstrong (Roni), Douglas Armstrong, Heather A. Shinkevick, six grandchildren, 2 
great-grandchildren all of Sacramento, CA, and a sister Doris Armstrong Bright of 
Hernando, MS. He will be buried in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. (Published 
in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN, on January 27, 2013
