Allen C. Girton, 82, Flat Rock, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday
at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital, Franklin, He had been in failing health 
several years. Mr. Girton retired from Arvin Industries, Columbus, in 1963 and from 
farming.
He also was a World War I Army veteran. Born Aug. 23, 1897
in Shelby County, a son of Jacob and Carrie(Fateley)Girton,
on Feb. 14, 1924 he married Pearl Scott, who survives. Also surviving are a son, 
Wayne J. Girton, Greewood, a daughter, Jane Ray, Shelbyville; and two 
grandchildren. A 
brother, Fred, preceded in death. Friends may call from 
4-8 p.m. Friday at the Norman Funeral Home, Hope where private services will be held 
at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery.
