Bernice Evelyn White Payne, age 95, of Manassas, wife of the late James M. Payne of
Centreville, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at the home of her daughter in Midland. She
was born Oct. 17, 1910, in Culpeper, daughter of the late John G. and Etta Clendenon
White. Bernice was a member of Buckhall United Methodist Church, Manassas, and
Herndon Chapter No 55, Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one daughter,
Janice McNulty; one son, Colin Payne; one granddaughter, Cheryl Ringel and husband
Frank; one grandson, Mark McNulty and wife Dina; five great-grandchildren,
Stephanie Miller, Sara Ringel, Frank Ringel III, Ryan McNulty and Kaylee McNulty;
one great-great granddaughter, Kiara Prince; one brother, Edwin White; one sister,
Nell Carter and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and church friends. The family
will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Buckhall United
Methodist Church, 10251 Moore Drive, Manassas, where funeral services will be held
11 a.m. Thursday. Inurnment will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church. In
lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Buckhall
United Methodist Church Building Fund, 10251 Moore Drive, Manassas, VA 20111 in
