Eldon E. Schanbeck, 73, of Delaware, Iowa, died at the Regional Medical Center in 
Manchester on Monday, November 18, 2013. He was born on September 13, 1940, in 
Delaware the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Oaker) Schanbeck. He was raised and 
educated in the area, and received his education in Delaware. Eldon served his 
country in the United States Army.

On June 16, 1967, Eldon was united in marriage to Sharon Dotson in Epworth. They 
lived their entire life in Delaware. Eldon was a 50 year over the road trucker. His "CB 
handle was Iowa Lead Foot". He retired at the age of 65.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Delaware; three children, Kenton (Wendy) of 
Manchester, Garland of Elkader, and Justine of Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren 
and several great-grandchildren; a step-son, Bart Thode Starr of Manchester; and one 
brother, Pat (Cookie) of Oelwein.

Eldon was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and his parents.
