CEDAR FALLS - Betty Lou Woock, 70, of Cedar Falls, formerly of 9907 Opal Lane, 
died Sunday, March 12, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. 

 She was born Oct. 25, 1935, in Manchester, daughter of Ernest DeWitt and Dorothy 
Mae Ocker Schanbeck. She married Louis Glennon Woock on Jan. 9, 1954, in Cedar 
Falls. 

 Mrs. Woock was a seamstress for more than 25 years with Palace Clothiers, retiring in 
2000. 

 Survivors include: her husband; a son, Dennis G. (Denise) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, 
Lori A. Handberg (Dale Kluth) of Cedar Falls; two stepdaughters, Judy Partridge of 
Enfield, Conn., and Cherry (Al) Payne of Charlottesville, Va.; a stepson, Gary (Carolyn) 
Woock of Hawthorne, Fla.; five grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, four great-
grandchildren and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers, Eldon E. (Sharon K.) 
Schanbeck of Delaware, Iowa, and Patrick G. (Berniece) Schanbeck of Winthrop. 

 Preceded in death by: a brother, Eugene Schanbeck; and a great-granddaughter. 

 Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in 
Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour 
before services Wednesday at the funeral home. 

 Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
