Photographer, Genealogist. With wife, Lottie, compiled "The Corbin Collection" used 
by genealogists to research New England ancestry. The Corbin Collection consists of 
transcribed church records, vital records, cemeteries, probate files, bibles, 
genealogies and interviews. It mainly covers Western Massachusetts with some 
information from CT, RI, NH, Ohio & Iowa.
When Walter died, Lottie donated his extensive photograph collection to the Florence 
Business and Civic Association. After Lottie's death, the remaining photographs and 
genealogy collection was sold. Forbes Library secured a collection of his photographs 
and the index card records for the Park Street Cemetery. The New England Historic 
Genealogical Society, Boston, purchased the remainder.

Northampton - Walter E Corbin, 74, of 16 North Maple St, Florence, died at his home 
Wednesday after a long illness. He was born in Brookfield Oct 28, 1885, the son of 
Miner and Sarah (Brown) Corbin and had resided in this city for the past 50 years. He 
attended the Brimfield schools and Hitchcock Free Academy and was a graduate of 
the Pratt Institute Art Department in the class of 1909. Mr and Mrs Corbin were married 
Sept 14, 1910, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. 
He was a member of the Amherst Camera Club, and a member of the Geological 
Society. He leaves his wife, Mrs Lottie (Squier) Corbin and a brother Erford Corbin of 
Churchville, NY. The funeral will be held at Newell's funeral home today at 2 with Rev 
Walter G Crocuh of the Florence Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in 
Spring Grove Cemetery, Florence.
