Donabel U. Richardson Levett, 99, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 
the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born November 5, 1916, in Ireton, Iowa, daughter of the Rev. Dr. D.M. 
Simpson and Una Griffen Simpson. 

She married Robert R. Richardson on March 11, 1938 in Pocahontas, Iowa, and he 
preceded her in death in 1972. She married Charles J. Levett on February 14, 1976 in 
Cedar Falls, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2005.

She attended Morningside College in Sioux City.

 She co-owned and operated Richardson Funeral Home with her first husband, and 
was employed with Sweeny’s and Braley’s Dress Shops prior to managing the Estee 
Lauder Cosmetic Department at Black’s Department Store at College Square. She 
retired in 1976 from Carson Pirie Scott. 

First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: three sons, Bob (JoDee) Richardson and Don (Jean) Richardson of Cedar 
Falls, and Dr. James (Paula) Levett of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Donna Kay Glass 
of Sterling, VA and Valerie (Kit) Levett Stolz of Los Angeles, CA; and 14 
grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Glenn G. Simpson; and son-in-law, Larry Glass.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in 
East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson 
Funeral Service and also for one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.
