Donna S. Sharpless of Avondale Donna S. Sharpless, 65, of Avondale, passed away 
on Sunday, February 13, 2011 after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late 
Robert I. Sharpless, who passed away in 2006. Born in Oxford, she was the daughter 
of the late Clarence J. Simpson and Katherine Schofield Simpson. She was a 1962 
graduate of the Oxford High School. She was employed by the Bowling Green Rehab 
Center in Toughkenamon in the Accounting Dept. for the last 15 years and had 
previously worked at The Devereux Foundation. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, 
grandmother and sister. She loved Country Music and trips to the mountains. She was 
a Board Member on the Elections Committee in West Marlborough Twp. for 32 years. 
She is survived by two sons, Brian I. Sharpless of Coatesville and Randall S. 
Sharpless and wife Cynthia of Coatesville and two stepdaughters, Vicki S., wife of 
Robert Winward of Avondale, and Jennifer A., wife of W. Daniel Osborne of Kirkwood; 
eight grandchildren and her six siblings, Shirley J. Stirling of Coatesville, Gerald 
Simpson of Ocean Pines, Md., Joan Halter of Parkesburg, Frances Newswanger of 
Bethlehem, Ronald W. Simpson of Cochranville and Ray S. Simpson of Ruskin, Fla. 
She was predeceased by two siblings, John W. Simpson and Barbara Soulliard. The 
funeral service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the London 
Grove Friends Meeting, Street and Newark Roads, London Grove, Pa. followed by 
interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the 
viewing from 2 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory 
to the "AseraCare Hospice Foundation", 411 Eagleview Blvd., Suite 114, Exton, PA 
19341. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.
