Mr. L.C. (Bill) Bennett, 65, of Rt. 1, Box 235, Zion, died Monday, Oct. 28, at Kenosha 
Memorial Hospital.
 He was born in Newport Township Dec. 25, 1908 and had lived in this area all of his 
life. Mr. Bennett had farmed for over 45 years and for the last 12 years had been an 
excavating contractor. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and a 
trustee of the Newport Volunteer Fire Department.
 He is survived by his widow, Ruby, 2 sons, Robert Bennett, Winthrop Harbor, Butch 
Bennett, Zion; 1 daughter, Mrs. Barbara Litewski, Zion; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-
grandchildren; 2 brothers, Francis Bennett, Zion and Lewis Bennett, Englewood, Fl.; 
and 1 sister Mrs. Dorothy O'Rourke, Kailua, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his 
mother and father and a brother, Charles.
 Funeral services will be Thurs., Oct. 31, 2 p.m. from the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 
3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion; interment in Oakdale Cemetery, Winthrop Harbor. Friends 
may call at the funeral home tonight, Wednesday, after 7 p.m. Memorials may be made 
in Mr. Bennett's name to the Heart Association.
