BOYLSTON - David L. Hagstrom, 49, of 3 Underwood Ave. died yesterday in his home 
after a long illness. 

 He leaves his wife, Janet H. (Hagar) Hagstrom; two daughters, Lauren M. Carlson of 
Holden and Heather C. O'Toole of Marlboro; his mother, Eleanor (Raynor) Hagstrom 
Nylen of Boylston; a sister, Judith E. Singer of Lexington; nephews and nieces. Mr. 
and Mrs. Hagstrom were married in August 1962. He was born in Worcester, son of 
Lawrence J. Hagstrom, and lived here most of his life. 

 He graduated from South High School in Worcester and attended the University of 
Massachusetts at Amherst. 

 Mr. Hagstrom owned and operated the Boylston Center Store for 16 years. He was 
then a manager at Bergson Ice Cream Stores, with stores in Worcester and Westboro, 
from 1976 to 1985. He was then manager of shipping and receiving at Refco Co. here, 
retiring due to illness last year. 

 Mr. Hagstrom was a member of First Congregational Church and sang for many years 
in its choir. He served on the church Board of Deacons and its Stewardship 
Committee. He coached sports in the town recreation program for many years. 

 Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in First Congregational Church, 4 
Church St. The Rev. Charles V. Ford will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of 
the family in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family requests 
that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to Deacon's Fund 
of First Congregational Church, 4 Church St., Boylston, 01505. Nordgren, Carrigan, 
Mangsen Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
