Margaret Ann Runyard, 88 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday, March 7, 
2016 at her home. She was born August 8, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of the 
late Douglas and Vivian (Rodgers) McGlynn. On October 18, 1947, Margaret married 
John Thomas Runyard at St. Peter Church in Antioch, where the remained lifelong 
residents. Margaret worked as a telephone operator during World War II and later at 
the Stage Stop Restaurant in Wilmot, WI for many years. She was an avid fan of 
outdoor sports and loved spending time at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin, but 
she especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-
grandchildren. 

Margaret is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, John Thomas; their children, 
John Douglas (Gina) Runyard of Florida, Thomas Runyard of Antioch, Teresa (Terry) 
Lear of Trevor, WI, and Diane (Moe Mueller) Heilgeist of Genoa City, WI; 14 
grandchildren, Rhett (Sue Craig) Runyard, Justin (Carey) Runyard, Patrick Joseph 
(Tami) Runyard, Megan (Chad) Marra, Timothy Runyard, Tracy (Bryan) Holcombe, 
Crystal Runyard, Ryan Runyard, Sean Runyard, Thomas Lear, Taylor Lear, Brittany 
Heilgeist, Heather Heilgeist, Cole Heilgeist and 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, 
Ruth Trussell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by a son Patrick in 1993; sisters, Carol Sheen and Barbara 
Bjork; and a half-brother, Douglas McGlynn. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the STRANG 
FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, Il 60002. Interment 
will immediately follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Antioch. Memorial Visitation will be held 
from 10:00AM until the start of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
