married Margaret Ann McGlynn in Antioch, IL on Oct. 18, 1947. He served in the U. S. 
Navy from 1943 until 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, 
Margaret, and his son Patrick; a brother, David and a sister, Margaret Ann.

John Thomas Runyard, 90 years old of Antioch, IL, passed away Saturday, July 9, 
2016 at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, North Chicago, IL. 
He was born November 25, 1925 in Antioch, IL, the son of the late Thomas and 
Harriett (Chase) Runyard. On October 18, 1947, John married Margaret Ann McGlynn 
at St. Peter Catholic Church in Antioch. John served in the United States Navy from 
1943 until 1946. 

He is survived by his children, John Douglas (Gina) of Florida, Thomas of Antioch, 
Teresa (Terry) Lear of Trevor, WI, and Diane Heilgeist (Moe Muller) of Genoa City, WI; 
his fourteen grandchildren, Rhett Runyard (Sue Craig), Justin (Carey) Runyard, Patrick 
Joseph (Tami) Runyard, Megan (Chad) Marra, Timothy Runyard, Tracy (Brian) 
Holcombe, Crystal Runyard, Ryan Runyard, Sean Runyard, Thomas Lear, Taylor Lear, 
Brittany Heilgeist, Heather Heilgeist, and Cole Heilgeist; his seventeen great-
grandchildren; his siblings, Daniel (Linda) Runyard, Kathryn (Richard) Rogers, and 
Mary Jo (Michael) Zeien; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his 
parents and his wife, Margaret, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick; a 
brother, David and a sister, Margaret Ann. 

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00PM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the STRANG 
FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. Antioch, IL 60002. Interment with 
Military Honors will immediately follow. Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00AM 
until the start of the service Saturday at the funeral home. For additional information,
