Priscilla Blesch Daffer

Resident of Orinda
Priscilla, a 52 year resident of Orinda passed away peacefully in her home at the age 
of 83 with family at her side.
Priscilla, the loving daughter of Charles and Priscilla Blesch was born in Elizabeth, NJ 
and shortly thereafter moved to Burlingame. She attended Burlingame High School and 
graduated from UC Berkeley and completed her Masters degree in 1952 from 
University of Wisconsin where she also met her future husband James H Daffer whom 
she married in 1952. 
Priscilla was an accomplished musician and composer playing the violin, piano and 
guitar. She turned her passion for music and teaching into a 30 year career in music 
instruction from her Orinda home. She also was a gifted author, poet and artist. 
Priscilla gained an appreciation for the outdoors and all related activities involving the 
ocean and the mountains from her father, Charles from whom she learned to fly fish 
and ski. In 1938 she was introduced to the Carson Pass in the Sierra's while attending 
the Girl Scout camp at Lake Kirkwood. This began a lifetime love affair with the 
Carson Pass and in particular Lake Kirkwood where she would often spend the entire 
summer. The lake always held a special place in her heart and there was no place on 
earth she would rather during the summer. 
She is survived by her two children, Charles Daffer of Southlake, Texas and Cathleen 
Daffer of Orinda, CA.
