Thelma B. Decker, 89, of Libby died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran 
Hospital from natural causes. She was born June 22, 1918 in Oldham, S.D.

She attended school in Oldham and DeSmet until the age of 8 when the family moved 
west to Harrington, Wash. At the age of 10 she moved to Libby. She graduated from 
Libby High School in 1936.

On Easter Sunday of 1937 she married Roy Decker. They made their home in Leona, 
Mont. Two years later they moved to Troy where they built a small log house and 
started their family. They later moved to Libby and then to a ranch 8 miles south of 
Libby.

In 1957 they moved to Othello, Wash. where they owned and operated a hotel. From 
there they started making their way back to Libby by way of Hidden Lake and Post 
Falls. In 1991, they moved back to Libby. 

Thelma enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and playing games. Her husband Roy, as well as 
her son Duane and her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include: her children Jeannie Howard and her husband Vern of Libby, Cam 
Decker of Libby; 12 grandchildren Rocke, Robynn, Rhonda, Ann, Carl, Kathy, Keith, 
Greg, Ian, Rod, Chuck and Tyson; 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-
grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at the Libby Church of God at 
1004 Utah Ave. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
