Elizabeth Jean Shelt, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Oct. 4, 2000, at Fawcett 
Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. 

She was born May 8, 1922, in Bascom, Ohio, and moved to Port Charlotte in 1988 
from Tiffin, Ohio. She retired as a first-grade teacher. She was a member of Port 
Charlotte United Methodist Church, Charlettes of the BPO Elks Lodge No, 2153, 
Retired Teachers Association of Port Charlotte, and American Legion Auxiliary Post, 
No. 110 in Port Charlotte. 

Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Shelt of Port Charlotte; daughter, Kristine K. 
Palisano of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters, Dorothy Pullins of Bascom, Ohio, Clair 
Hossler of Scottsdale, Ariz., Judy Hull of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Roberson 
Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 9 at the funeral home 
chapel. Pastor James R. Kuse of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church will 
officiate. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Port Charlotte United Methodist church, 21075 
Quesada Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33952-2546.
