A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Oscar E. Linstrum of 
Rosamond will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rosamond Hills Senior Retirement 
Community, 3075 Sierra Highway, Rosamond. 

Born Nov. 23, 1914, in Galveston, Texas, Linstrum died June 18 at age 83 at a 
Lancaster convalescent hospital. 

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a master's degree from San 
Francisco State University, Linstrum worked as a teacher and administrator before 
retiring from the Southern Kern Unified School District in 1976 due to illness. 

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Jane Linstrum; son, Kirk Linstrum; 
brothers, Charles Linstrum and Tom Linstrum; sisters, Gladys McDonald and Gernelle 
Kunkel; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Contributions can be made in his memory to the United Parkinson's Foundation, 1833
