MARELLA, SILVIO M. "Sam" III - Age 64, Mays Landing, NJ Sam Marella, born Feb. 6, 
1950, in Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on July 21, 2014. Devoted father of 
Samantha Jane Marella (Rich Baxter Jr.) of Mullica Twp., loving son of Reda Marella 
and the late Silvio A. Marella Jr. of Philadelphia, beloved companion of 10 years of 
Barbara Young of Milmay, loving brother of Leonard (Len) Marella and wife Barbara of 
Englewood, Colorado, and Lisa (Lee) Chen and husband Randy of Marlton, doting 
grandfather of James and Victoria, and uncle of two nephews, two nieces, and five 
great-nieces and great-nephews.

Sam proudly served as a U.S. Air Force Reservist (retired) and was a dedicated long-
time fireman (retired), serving as a Captain with the Fire Department of the 177th 
Fighter Wing, NJ Air National Guard, at the Atlantic City Airport. He was a graduate of 
Bishop Neumann High School of Philadelphia, Class of 1967.

Sam will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sam's viewing and funeral on Monday, July 
28, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the GRASSO FUNERAL HOME, 2540-44 South Broad St., 
Philadelphia. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Stella Maris R.C. Church, 9th 
and BiglerSts. Philadelphia. Interment immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery, 
Lower Landing Rd., Blackwood, NJ.
