went to work for a florist, in 1920s became florist with Warwick Hotel 
Flower Shop, arrangements celebrated for "originality and spare 
elegance." Lost house in depression, moved to Wilke-Barre, where he 
became manager of Bauman's Flower Shop. When it closed in 1937, they 
moved to Allentown, he worked in a flower shop until it closed a year 
later, then moved to 1455 Cheltenham Ave in Phila., started a business 
selling "Baby Novelties," baskets with flowers and a baby rattle. Lost 
business when an injured worker sued. Then worked as moonlighting 
florist.
